Avelino Da Silva was born in Madeira, Portugal and was raised in Caracas, Venezuela. He came to know the Lord at the age of 21, after having a supernatural experience with the presence of God. He faithfully served the Lord in “Iglesia Evangelica de Castillito”, located in Puerto Ordaz and then in “Iglesia Emmanuel” of Caracas, Venezuela. On May 30, 1981, he married Lily, the daughter of Brother Tomas Trevino, the founder of Emmanuel Worship Center. She had traveled to Venezuela in 1977, where she met Avelino. During the first years of their marriage, Avelino helped his father-in-law as the co-pastor of the church while he also worked in secular jobs.

     In 1982 they had a daughter, Liavette, who is now married to Irving Peralta and they have given them a precious grandson, Josiah. Their son Jonathan was born in 1985. All of their children are involved in the work of the Lord alongside of their parents.

     When Brother Tomas Trevino suddenly passed from this life to be with the Lord in 1989, Avelino became the pastor of Emmanuel Worship Center, which had earlier had the name “Esmirna”, in Alvin, Texas.

     In 1993 Avelino began to work in KLTJ, a Christian T.V. station, as the Coordinator for Spanish Programming and also as the host for a weekly program. With time, his wife Lily also joined him to become the hosts of the Spanish programs “Celebracion en Houston” and “Celebracion en Daystar”. “Celebracion en Daystar” is an international program that can be seen worldwide via satellites, cable and stations.      God allowed them to guide the church to construct a new building to which they moved in December 2007. In 2008 they celebrated the inauguration of the new building and the 50th anniversary of their existence as a church.

     Avelino and Lily graduated from Berea Bible School by Extension. They also graduated from the National Training Institute, a training program for the denomination to which they belong, the International Pentecostal Holiness Church (IPHC). They also graduated from Advantage College.

Sirvio fielmente al Señor en la Iglesia Evangelica de Castillito en Puerto Ordaz, y luego en la Iglesia Emmanuel en Caracas, Venezuela. En Mayo 30, 1981 se caso con Lily, hija del Hermano Tomas Trevino, el fundador de Emmanuel – Centro de Adoración. Ella habia viajo a Venezuela en 1977 y alli conocio a Avelino. En los primeros años de su matrimonio Avelino le ayudo a su suegro como co-pastor de la iglesia mientras tambien trabajaba en trabajos seculares.

      En 1982 tuvieron una hija, Liavette, ahora casada con Irving Peralta quienes les han dado un precioso nieto, Josiah. Su hijo, Jonathan nació en 1985. Todos sus hijos están envueltos en la obra del Señor al lado de sus padres.

      Cuando el Hermano Trevino de repente paso de esta vida para estar con el Señor en 1989, Avelino fue instalado como pastor de Emmanuel – Centro de Adoracion – que antes se llamaba “Esmirna”, en Alvin, Texas.

     En 1993 Avelino empezo a trabajar en KLTJ, un canal de televisión cristiano, como Coordinador de la Programación Hispana y tambien como anfitrion de un programa semanal. Con el tiempo su esposa Lily tambien se unio a el para ser los anfitriones de los programas hispanos “Celebración en Houston” y Celebración en Daystar”. “Celebración en Daystar” es un programa internacional, pues se ve en todo el mundo atravez de varios satelites, cables y canales.      Dios les permitió guiar a la iglesia para construir un nuevo edificio al cual se trasladaron en Diciembre, 2007. En 2008 se celebro la inaugracion del nuevo templo y el aniversario de 50 anos de existencia como iglesia.

     Avelino y Lily se graduaron de la Escuela Biblica Berea por Extension. Tambien se graduaron del National Training Institute, un programa de entrenamiento de la denominación a la cual pertenecen, la International Pentecostal Holiness Church (IPHC). Se graduaron también de Advantage College.
